BE IT ENACTED BY THE YOUTH LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA YOUTH LEGISLATURE –
An act to
apply a relief fund for state parks.

SECTION I - PURPOSE
Make an emergency fund that would supply aid to state parks after weather events that caused harm to structures or
nature.

SECTION II - JUSTIFICATION
This would help establish a fund for state parks, allowing them to avoid drawing from the state's general fund. Fining
big corporations would also act as a deterrent to lower pollution. Recent natural events such as flooding, storms, and
erosion have caused significant damage to park facilities, trails, and nature. These damages not only threaten the
safety of visitors but also endanger the natural landscapes. Establishing a relief fund would provide the financial
resources needed to restore damaged areas.

SECTION III - DEFINITIONS
State parks: A state park is a public area managed by a state government
Relief fund: A fund of money set up to provide aid for people in need, especially in disaster areas.

SECTION IV - FUNDING
Increase the fine for pollution on big corporations

SECTION V – PENALTIES/ENFORCEMENT
