BE IT ENACTED BY THE YOUTH LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA YOUTH LEGISLATURE –
An act to
Negate Property Taxes for Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legions Buildings.
 
SECTION I - PURPOSE
To allow Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legions buildings to no longer have to pay property taxes.
 
SECTION II - JUSTIFICATION
VFWs and American Legions honor Veterans who served during occupation across seas. Veterans deserve a place where they
can go and feel safe to talk about their time serving. By eliminating property tax on these places the money can go
towards renovations, into the food, to the workers, and even back to the community.
 
SECTION III - DEFINITIONS
Veterans of Foreign Wars- a non-profit organization who helps veterans who are sick or injured who cannot afford
healthcare get back on their feet
American Legions- an organization who helps veterans and their family members with anything they need, rehabilitation,
food, etc.
