BE IT ENACTED BY THE YOUTH LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA YOUTH LEGISLATURE –
An act to
Legalize Motor Vehicle Sales on Sundays

SECTION I - PURPOSE
This bill will allow motor vehicles to be bought, sold, exchanged, dealt, or traded on Sundays, as outlawed in Minnesota
State Statute 168.275, which would be repealed after the passing of this bill.

SECTION II - JUSTIFICATION
Forcibly restricting the sale of motor vehicles on Sunday has the implication of delaying sales for motor vehicle
sellers. Also, allowing motor vehicle sales on Sundays allows for a greater ease of purchasing motor vehicles, as it is
typical for a person to have days off on the weekend. This can lead to greater conveniences for people, both before the
sale, as they can buy their motor vehicle, and after the sale, as they now have an additional mode of transport.

SECTION III - DEFINITIONS
Motor Vehicle - Any vehicle driven or drawn by mechanical power manufactured primarily for use on the public streets,
roads, and highways, except any vehicle operated exclusively on a rail or rails.

SECTION IV - FUNDING
No funding is required for this bill to be in effect.

SECTION V – PENALTIES/ENFORCEMENT
No penalities/enforcement is requried for this bill to be in effect.

SECTION VI – EFFECTIVE DATE
This bill will come into effect upon passage.
