SECTION II - JUSTIFICATION
According to “gpa_calculate_tools”
The relationship between club participation and academic achievement has become increasingly important in understanding
student success. Research from the National Center for Education Statistics demonstrates clear correlations between
extracurricular involvement and higher grades, with participants consistently outperforming their non-participating
peers across multiple academic indicators. Students involved in extracurricular activities show significantly better
academic outcomes. The data reveals that participation extends beyond just grades to include improved attendance pattern
higher educational aspirations. (gpa_calculate_tools)
Based on this information, the results are clear that it is not all about burying your head into your books and studying
all the time that will improve scores. That only puts pressure on the student because they also lack a way to relax and
ease the brain while still interacting and being engaged with others.
There are many skills like problem solving, time management, smart risk taking, etc.. Most of them are things that
cannot be taught by schools but are rather things that must be learned from experience.
A common argument is that having external activities could become an academic distraction to the student and could
result in less time and energy for homework and studying. I agree with this argument; however, this is a part of the
things that a student needs to learn for college, let alone life alone in general. Time management is a very important
task that needs to be learned, but it's not really something that you can learn from being taught by a teacher. It is
rather something that has to be acquired by your own experiences and trials. Yes, it could be a distraction; however,
the student needs to learn what they really want and how to make room for the important majority. E.g. cutting down
screen time to study enough before the activity, getting assignments done in class rather than waiting till they get
home, etc. The student knows their body and schedule best; they must learn that there is a time for everything, but not
SECTION III - DEFINITIONS
None needed. (feel free to ask for any clarifications)
There wont be funding required
SECTION V – PENALTIES/ENFORCEMENT
There wont be any penalties if not done nor if the students aren't choosing to listen but parents and teachers should
still think about trying. There will be power points and videos that are made to relate with the students rather than it
to seem like a lecture that will hopefully encourage students to think about partaking in some.
